Money, without the panic.
Small, live classes that take one money topic apart, so you walk out knowing exactly what to do next. Ten seats a session. Taught by Lavanya, Chartered Accountant and author of Money Doesn’t Grow on Trees.
Understanding Risk
There is no such thing as a risk-free investment. Learn to read risk, use it to decide, and stay steady when the market storms.
Same class, two mornings. Pick the one that suits you.
Everything sounds like an assured return. Until it isn’t.
You’re getting money advice from your feed, your family WhatsApp group and a colleague’s cousin. All of it sounds fine, but then one fine day the market falls and you’ve no idea what to do next.
Money Therapy is where you slow down, understand how the system actually works, and make a decision you own. No jargon, no product pushing, no feeling stupid for asking.
Four classes. One clear way to think about investing.
Start with risk, build your floor, grow it, then question what your family told you. Take all four, or just the one you need.
The full Investing Bundle · ₹8,000
All four classes, 31 Oct to 29 Nov. Pick Saturday or Sunday for each class at checkout. Save ₹2,000 on booking separately. Bundle bookings close 30 October.
Understanding Risk
There is no risk-free investment. Learn to use risk as a decision lever, tell a safe product from a well-marketed one, and know what to do when the market turns stormy.
You leave with: understanding your personal capacity for risk and checking if your investments match your belief
Bank investments worth your time
FDs, RDs and your savings account aren’t outdated. They’re your floor. How to get the most out of the bank you already use.
You leave with: a plan for where your short-term and emergency money should sit.
Mutual funds, decoded
There are 3,500 mutual funds in India. How they work, what actually matters when you compare them, and how to find the few that fit you.
You leave with: a shortlisting method you can use on any fund, forever.
Gold & real estate
The two things every Indian family swears by. Learn the difference between making a genuine investment in them and buying under family pressure.
You leave with: a clear-eyed view of what you hold, and why.
Hi, I’m Lavanya.
I’m a Chartered Accountant, the author of Money Doesn’t Grow on Trees (Simon & Schuster), and the voice behind The Ledger. Nearly 34,000 of you follow along for the way I talk about money: honestly, and through the lens of gender, power and the complicated feelings we all carry about it.
My DMs are full of the same message: “I have so much anxiety about money.” Money Therapy is my answer. Not more information. A calm room, a clear framework, and the confidence to act.
Questions
Do I need to know anything already?
No. Every class starts from the ground up. If you’ve ever felt lost in a money conversation, you’re exactly who this is for.
Will you tell me what to invest in?
No, and that’s the point. These are education classes. You’ll learn frameworks to make your own decisions, not get personal recommendations.
What if I can’t make my session?
Every class runs on both Saturday and Sunday morning. You can switch to the other day if a seat is free, as long as you tell me at least 24 hours before your original class (for a Saturday class, by Friday morning). No switches on the morning of the class.
Will there be a recording?
No. These classes are best experienced live, and they ask you to commit the full 90 minutes. I may launch pre-recorded classes separately later, but this round is live only.
How do I join?
Live on Zoom. You’ll get the link and a short pre-class note by email after booking.
Refunds?
No refunds. But if you can’t make it, and a switch doesn’t work or no seats are free, you’ll get credit for a future class.
